Chetna Shah : CEO and Secretary

chetna-shahEmployed by EAWA in 2001: responsible for management, fundraising, and the formation of the existing day care service, the HIP and quality accreditations. Chetna has extensive knowledge of:

  • Health and Social Care for the Elderly
  • Carers and the Voluntary Sector
  • Chetna is a Board Member of Enfield Voluntary Action and former board member of North London Asian Care

Shashi Dhanatunge : Assistant Manager

shashi-dhanatungeEmployed by EAWA since October 2009; he is a Registered Manager. He manages the EAWA day care operations including staff and is responsible overall for the wellbeing of the EAWA clients. This is a complicated role which requires flexibility, sensitivity and being organised. Shashi is well respected. He has a varied background and has a keen interest in Cricket.

Sheila Mistry : Administrator/Accounts

sheila-mistrySheila manages the EAWA back office functions. She makes sure that the EAWA systems and procedures are serviced and the cash flows, sage, invoicing etc run smoothly to enable EAWA’s work to flow efficiently.

Care Assistants

Our care staffs are all trained in statutory courses like First Aid, Manual Handling, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety etc; and some have completed training to NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care. They speak Asian Languages like Gujarati, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu etc.

Guljar Hussain : Senior Care Assistant

guljar-hussainGuljar Hussain has been employed with EAWA since October 2006. He completed his NVQ 2 in Care in 2008 and is now studing for his NVQ Level 3 in Care. He leads the Art and Craft Activity. He helps train in the new Male Care Assistants into their roles and is a sensitive and hardworking person.

Shobhana Patel : Senior Care Assistant

shobhana-patelShobhana Patel has been employed with EAWA since February 2003. She completed her NVQ level 2 in Care in July 2005. She has become a Chairbased Exercise Class Leader and undergone further training to increase her skills as a Care Assistant in relation to the needs of EAWA clients e.g. Reminscence for people with Dementia etc.

Mahesh Tank : Care Assistant/Driver

mahesh-tankMahesh has successfully completed his statutory courses. He will now be training in NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care. He has been trained to drive for EAWA so that he can cover our normal driver.

Uttam Patel : Freelance Care Assistant

uttam-patelUttam has successfully completed his statutory courses; he will now be training in NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.

Surjit Singh Sahib: Driver

Surjit has trained in Manual Handling and First Aid. He safely transports EAWA clients to and from the day centre.

Freelancers

All our tutors and therapists are qualified in their own field and are fully insured. Many have been with EAWA for over 5 years and have a very good relationship with our service users.
